      Description

      The School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University operates a fleet of Research Vessels to accommodate the research needs of SoMAS faculty and regional natural resource agencies.

      Research Vessel Donald W. Pritchard is used for all types of oceanographic work & shallow water fisheries.

      Research Vessel Parker is used for underway sampling fisheries work & diving operations.

      Research Vessel Paumanok is used for offshore oceanographic sampling, and diving operations.

      Research Vessel Peconic is used for large group research cruises, and educational trips.

      Research Vessel Privateer is best for oceanographic sampling, diving, and fisheries work.

      Research Vessel Seawolf is used for all types of oceanographic and fisheries work.

      Research Vessel Shinnecock is used for shallow water oceanographic & fisheries sampling.
