    Research interests

Dr. DeLorenzo’s research advances precision medicine, applying advanced neuroimaging to uncover the biological bases of mood disorders and neurological diseases. Using positron-emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), her team examines living human brains—both in health and in disease—to quantify key neurobiological systems including neurotransmitter activity, inflammation, and brain metabolism that shape emotional and cognitive health.

Her broader program focuses on developing brain-based biomarkers to improve diagnosis and predict individual response to treatments. To accomplish this, she integrates neuroimaging with physiological and behavioral measures to better understand and treat diseases such as depression and Alzheimer’s disease.
