THE GOAL OF THE PROPOSED WORK IS TO GAIN A QUANTITATIVE UNDERSTANDING OF THE SPECTRAL EFFECTS OF THIN DUST COATINGS ON ROCK OR COARSE PARTICULATE SURFACES AND TO RELATE THOSE TO THE THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF THOSE SURFACES.
