A Framework and a Theoretical Model to Integrate Internet-of-Things with Human Behavior in Teams

Abstract

The effective integration of complex human behavior with the automated responses of engineered systems is challenging because existing theoretical models on human behavior devised by social sciences are hard to combine with traditional computing approaches. This paper proposes a novel framework to devise a theoretical model of individual and team behavior, so that the model is grounded in social science theories but can be used to optimize the operation and performance of engineered systems, like Internet-of-Things (IoT). Our ongoing work uses the framework to devise new algorithms that optimize IoTs that are more sensitive to individual and team behavior.
