Abstract
Two recent articles in the Journal of Field Archaeology by John J. Shea (“Spear Points from the Middle Paleolithic of the Levant” 15 [1988] 441-450) and Simon Holdaway (“Were There Hafted Projectile Points in the Mousterian?” 16 [1989] 79-86) have arrived at quite different conclusions about whether the Mousterian populations ofswAsiapossessed stone tipped projectiles. Further evidence is presented to support the author’s identification of spear points from the Middle Paleolithic of the Levant.
