Abstract
Cardiac arrhythmias are challenging to diagnose and treat. The author reviews the advances in devices used to diagnose and treat this condition over the past decade. The devices covered include implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, and automatic external defibrillators. This review emphasizes that advances are continually being made. Clinicians should be aware of the options currently available and the indications for using these therapies.
