N2 - Active splitting is an efficient emergency control strategy when severe disturbance occurs and several asynchronous generator groups appears in the power system. Active splitting strategy searching is a NP-hard problem since the strategy space is so large. However, the original strategy space is highly redundant, making most calculation useless. In this paper, a novel method for splitting strategy space reduction based on flow tracing technique is proposed. This method can predetermine the division strategy for some specific load nodes before splitting control and the corresponding transmission lines can be judged as not being split out in splitting control. Thus, the original large, redundant strategy space can be reduced. The proposed method is divided to on-line stage, and real-time stage. Numerical tests are carried out to verify the validity of the proposed method. Simulation on several IEEE standard systems shows the significant effect of the proposed method on strategy space reduction.
