Abstract

The anatomy of peri-implant soft tissues is fundamental for the long-term prognosis of dental implants, since soft tissues present the biological barrier to the bacteria and foreign bodies which can violate the sustainability of clinical outcomes. The chapter presents the characteristic structural features of the peri-implant tissues and demonstrates key information from the literature, providing more information to clinicians and students to understand better the peri-imp0lant mucosa in health and disease.
