APPROXIMATE TREATMENT OF TWO SOLITON SOLUTIONS OF THE SINE-GORDON EQUATION.

Abstract

The so-called breather solution of the sine-Gordon equation is phenomenologically described by an appropriately choosen potential acting between two particles. For some applications the method proves to be equivalent to other classical and quantum calculations.
