Bimolecular chemistry with shaped ultrafast laser pulses

Abstract

We demonstrate control over a bimolecular chemical reaction with shaped ultrafast laser pulses for the first time. A nontrivial pulse shape dependence of the reaction rate is discovered inside a closed loop optimization procedure.
