Abstract
The induced effective action in a topological bag that models QCD at low energy is discussed in terms of Floquet indices. In the adiabatic limit, the Floquet indices reduce, modulo dynamical factors, to Berry phases. It is shown that these phases are induced by a hierarchy of screened instanton-like configurations in collective space. An important role that they might play in hadronic systems is suggested.
