CONFINEMENT-BASED INTEGRATION OF SIDEWALL ELECTRODES IN MICROCHANNELS FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL AND IMPEDANCE SENSING

Abstract

Sidewall electrodes in microchannels based on co-fabrication strategies have been limited to using posts thereby creating electrode surfaces with non-uniform topography. We present a strategy for co-fabrication of a uninterrupted ~300 μm long sidewall electrode wherein the electrode surface is modified with in-channel electrodeposition that enables electrochemical and impedance sensing along the entire depth of the microchannel.
