Abstract
This chapter examines contemporary Jewish literature in Spain focusing on three writers that are emblematic of the return of Jews and Judaism to Spain in the twentieth century. The writings of Rafael Cansinos Assens (1882-1964), Solly Wolodarsky (1927-2014) and Esther Bendahan Cohen (1964-) are analyzed as exemplary case studies of different emphases in contemporary Jewish literatures in Spain. The chapter explores the major role that Spain's Jewish history plays in the work of these three writers.
