Continued fraction methods for the reduction of constant-linear multivariable systems

Abstract

Methods developed for the reduction in order of single-input/single-output systems are extended to the reduction of linear, constant, equal input/equal output multivariable systems. The methods considered are the continued fraction and the Padé approximation techniques. Examples are given to illustrate the method.
