Abstract

The formulation of the superparticle with second-class constraints cannot be quantized covariantly. Naive replacement of these constraints with first-class ones does not solve the problem: Gupta-Bleuler quantization is not covariant, and BRST quantization gives the wrong cohomology. We show how other first-class formulations solve these problems.
