Abstract
Minimally invasive procedures for the management of small renal masses are increasingly being performed. Of the probe ablative modalities, renal cryotherapy is the most studied in the laboratory and the clinical setting. In this paper, we briefly review the principles of cryotherapy for the treatment of renal tumors. Current published series are outlined, with emphasis on intermediate oncologic follow-up.
