Crystal structure refinement of huntite, CaMg3(CO3)4, with X-ray powder data.

Abstract

Peak-fitting of CuKalpha 1,2 X-ray powder diffraction data to sin theta /lambda = 0.57 gave 86 integrated (Bragg) intensities which have been used to refine the crystal structure of huntite to R = 5.3%. The atomic arrangement in space group R32, a 9.5027(6), c 7.8212(6) A, is confirmed.-J.A.Z.
