Distributed Voltage Regulation of Multiple Coupled Distributed Generation Units in DC Microgrids: An Output Regulation Approach

Abstract

In this chapter, we consider the distributed voltage regulation problem for multiple coupled distributed generation (DG) units in a DC microgrid. Each DG unit is subject to a possibly time-varying current load and the DG units are coupled through transmission lines. We propose a distributed voltage regulation control law for each DG unit, utilizing its own state and the information received from its neighboring units. The control laws are able to regulate the output voltage of the DG units to possibly time-varying reference voltage, regardless of the influence from their loads and the coupling with other units. Simulation examples are provided to illustrate the design of the proposed control laws and verify their effectiveness.
