Abstract
Recently, a large enhancement of the dilepton yield in nuclear collisions was discovered at the CERN SPS. These data triggered a considerable theoretical effort searching for explanations. In my talk the experimental evidence for the dilepton enhancement and the present status of understanding is reviewed.
