Abstract

A revised quasi-crystalline speciation model that incorporates a refinement of the cryoscopic equations for the major felsic melt components NaAlSi2O8, CaAl2Si2O8, KAlSi3O8, and Si4O8 has been applied to the investigation of melt speciation behaviour in the systems: Ab-Or-Q-Sil(sillimanite)-H2O, Ab-Q-Eu (eucryptite)-H2O, and Ab-An-Or-Q-C(corundum)-Sp(spodumene)-H2O-F-B. -J.A.Z.
