Establishing a Fishroom for African Turquoise Killifish Nothobranchius furzeri

The animal facility is important for any research using living animals. Setting up a facility for these research animals is an important and expensive investment, especially for junior investigators, who have limited experience and resources. Here we aim to go over the fundamental features of setting up a killifish fishroom, such as the physical location, infrastructure, and components in the room. The fishroom needs to be set up in a fashion where it mimics the natural environment of African turquoise killifish to allow the fish to thrive while also being convenient for conducting research. Our goal is to provide a useful resource for investigators when they set up their first fishroom for African turquoise killifish.
