Abstract

Paleoshoreline features are preferentially preserved at five discrete horizons within the Long Island Sound basin. Preservation of these shoreline features is due to minor variations in the post-glacial relative submergence in southern New England. The exact nature of these variations in the regional submergence remains undefined but they are inferred to have been episodic minor stillstands during the overall early Holocene submergence of the basin. -from Authors
