Abstract
This volume was compiled in order to provide a vehicle for the presentation of recent research pertaining to the Plio-Pleistocene hominids commonly referred to as “robust? australopithecines. While these creatures are fascinating in their own right, they also provide for an enhanced appreciation of the questions associated with the evolution of our own lineage. The “robust? australopithecines were, after all, probably our closest cousins.
