Abstract

Thirty years after the passage of the Clean Water Act, how much do we know about toxic metals in U.S. waters? Sergio A. Sañudo-Wilhelmy, Antonio Tovar-Sanchez, and Nicholas S. Fisher of Stony Brook University and A. Russel Flegal with the University of California, Santa Cruz, survey the literature and find surprisingly large gaps in our knowledge.
