Abstract

A method is presented to express fixed-JT traces in terms of fixed-J_ZT_Z traces for an arbitrary tensor operator. The method is used to evaluate the coefficients of the linear, secular energy variation of the electric quadrupole moment and the gyromagnetic ratio for a number of nuclei in the sd shell. Upper limits for the electromagnetic moments are used to estimate the fluctuations about this secular variation.
