Abstract

We show that the bound-state approach to heavy baryons as suggested by Callan and Klebanov may have a heavy quark limit provided that the proper degenerate meson multiplet is considered. The role of induced Berry phases in heavy solitonic baryons is discussed, and a mass formula for heavy hyperons is derived.
