Abstract
A study was conducted to determine whether high-impact jumping, compared to high-speed treadmill, significantly elevates mechanical parameters previously proposed to drive adaptation, including strain magnitude and distribution, strain rate and strain gradients. Immature White Leghorn roosters were made to run or jump. Paired t-tests were used to contrast mechanical parameters induced by running to those induced by jumping. All results were expressed in mean ±SE.
