Abstract

In Cell, Haziza et al.1 demonstrate TEMPO (transmembrane electrical measurement performed optically) neural recording achieving unprecedented voltage sensitivity. The authors show recordings of sub-threshold traveling waves across brain regions and dissect cell-specific dynamics involved in epilepsy, opening a new frontier in studying neural dynamics from specific cell populations.
