Is the nucleon strange?

Abstract

The issue of the strangeness content of the proton in relation to a large σπN term is examined using the instanton-antiinstanton description of the QCD ground state. Modulo plausible assumptions, our results indicate no strangeness admixture in the nucleon state at zero momentum transfer.
