Abstract
Failure mode and effect analysis is used to develop an efficient algorithm for evaluating large scale distribution system reliability, which takes system capacity constraint into consideration. The research and development of this algorithm and the Distribution System Reliability Evaluator software (DSRE-TH) provide a powerful tool for distribution system planning and reconstruction. The application of the algorithm to the Tianjin distribution system corroborate its validity and efficiency.
