Abstract

Genus one Laughlin wavefunctions, describing the gas of interacting electrons on a two dimensional torus in the presence of a strong magnetic field, analytically continued in the filling fraction, are related to the partition functions of half-BPS surface defects in four dimensional N= 2 supersymmetric gauge theory.
