Abstract

The magnetic moment of the 1+ first excited state of 10B at 0.72 MeV has been determined by an integral perturbed angular correlation measurement in an external magnetic field. The value obtained for the g-factor, +0.63 ± 0.12, is compared with calculations based on the effective-force treatment of 10B. A measurement of the perturbation produced in 10B nuclei implanted in iron showed that the internal field Hint at the boron nuclei was less than 4 kG.
