Abstract

We present a general method for deriving N = 1 superspace constraints and transformations from extended superspace formulations. We apply our method to N = 2 supergravity, and find a geometric N = 1 superspace description of the theory. We explicitly solve the constraints in terms of unconstrained prepotentials. Finally, we present the action to all orders in pure N = 1 supergravity fields and to second order in spin ( 3 2, 1) matter fields.
