Abstract

The present study assesses the activity of human NK cell at various times before and after renal transplantation, in an attempt to obtain further information on the possible role of such cells in allograft recipients. The results indicate that there may be decreases in NK cell activities in renal allograft recipients maintained on long-term immunosuppression. It is not evident, however, that presently available NK cell assays can provide a reliable in vitro index of allograft rejection events.
