Abstract
Seven children with unilateral renal parenchymal disease underwent nephrectomy for hypertension; 3 were cured, 2 were ameliorated, and 2 were unchanged. The literature is reviewed, and the diagnostic parameters are discussed. We conclude that nephrectomy remains a viable therapeutic alternative to medical management, but the outcome in any particular individual is unpredictable.
