Oceanographic and geologic framework of the Hudson system.

Divides the Hudson channel morphology types based on width, depth, the occurrence of subtidal banks, flats, shoals, and the character of the deep-water channel exclusive of these shallow water areas. These channel changes largely reflect changes in the local geology. Variations in channel type, along with sediment sources, anthropogenic loading and hydrologic factors, result in the changes in the bottom sediment facies. -from Authors
