Abstract

Heat flux distributions in Rotating detonation engines (RDEs) are of significant interest in thermal management of the engine, particularly in light of the large values of temperature that are involved. However, the investigation of heat flux distributions in this air-breathing system component has not received enough attention. This paper provides preliminary numerical results for this quantity using the standard RDE model based on ideal injection.
