Abstract
As with most electric power programs, Washington State Univ has existed since the beginning of the engineering program 100 years ago at this land grant university. It has grown and developed largely through the efforts of a few dedicated individuals. The Power Professorship Program has existed since 1972 and was created through the efforts of then chair of electrical engineering, A. L. Betts, and a few forward looking individuals in the electric utility industry: Wendell Satre, Washington Water Power, Eldon Drennan, Pacific Power & Light Co., and Axel Strom, Grant County Public Utility District. The Power Professor has been Dr. Clifford C. Mosher until his recent semi-retirement.
