Abstract

Precession measurements were carried out for the 2⁺ states in ¹⁷⁶Hf, ¹⁷⁸Hf and ¹⁸⁰Hf. The nuclei were excited by oxygen ions of 34 MeV and embedded by recoil into liquid gallium which was found to provide an unperturbed environment.
