Abstract
Pregnancy after renal transplantation presents many complex medical and ethical problems, although there does not seem to be an inordinate risk of the fetus's developing congenital malformations or of concomitant allograft rejection by the childbearing transplant recipient. Most of the pregnancies have some major or minor complicating factors that must be managed without delay. Despite the good immediate obstetric outcome of the 9 pregnancies in our series, one must carefully counsel the prospective parents on the uncertain future facing the family unit.
