Abstract
Low-dimensional (wall thickness in the range 50-300 nm) ordered C, SiC, and Co structures in the form of mesoscopic grids with hexagonal cells were produced by heat-treating polymer precursors of preset geometry. The starting materials used were nitrocellulose and carboxylated nitrocellulose. The temperature of SiC formation was found to be considerably lower (1000-1300°C) than that in bulk samples. The composition and morphology of the products obtained by heat-treating precursor grids were shown to depend on the substrate material.
