Abstract
This chapter presents three key themes related to the above challenge and in the context of this book from my op-eds for Republica: the need for rethinking/reframing fundamental aspects of higher education in Nepal, the opportunity to use semester-based teaching that is being implemented as a catalyst for change, and the complementary role of the private sector for updating higher education and responding to socioeconomic demands.
