Resonant tunneling of Cooper pairs in a double Josephson junction system

Abstract

The theory is developed which describes the Cooper pair tunneling in a system of two small-area Josephson tunnel junctions connected in series. In particular, existing theory of the Josephson tunneling in small tunnel junctions is extended to the case of arbitrary ECj ratio, where EC is the characteristic charging energy of the system, Δj are the energy gaps of superconductors forming the junctions.
