Abstract

Understanding development of the lung is key to understanding developmental anomalies, stages of lung function and how they relates to the viability of preterm infants, and how we can best support infants who are born preterm or with significant pathophysiology. This chapter reviews fetal lung development and key concepts and equations to better understand pulmonary physiology..
