Abstract
Elliptic flow and two-particle azimuthal correlations of charged hadrons and high-[Formula presented] pions ([Formula presented]) have been measured close to midrapidity in [Formula presented] [Formula presented] collisions by the CERES experiment. Elliptic flow ([Formula presented]) rises linearly with [Formula presented] to a value of about [Formula presented] at [Formula presented]. Beyond [Formula presented], the slope decreases considerably, possibly indicating a saturation of [Formula presented] at high [Formula presented]. Two-pion azimuthal anisotropies for [Formula presented] exceed the elliptic flow values by about [Formula presented] in midcentral collisions. These nonflow contributions are attributed to nearside and back-to-back jetlike correlations, the latter exhibiting centrality dependent broadening.
