Abstract
Microscopic derivation of the static elastic response of cross-linked macromolecules near the amorphous-solid phase transition was presented. The quenching disorder and thermal fluctuations of the free energy change of the vulcanized matter due to macroscopic shear strain was taken into account to explain the random spherical localization. The study showed the applicability of statistical mechanical derivation to randomly cross-linked flexible macromolecule systems as well as other equilibrium amorphous solid forming systems.
