Abstract

The optical reflectivity of a vacancy doped colossal magnetoresistance material (Formula presented) has been investigated on single-crystal samples as a function of temperature and at zero and 0.5 T magnetic fields. The conductivity has been evaluated by Kramers-Kronig analysis in the frequency range of 100–(Formula presented) The broad peak in the optical conductivity, observed at room temperature around (Formula presented) shifts towards zero as the ferromagnetic state develops at lower temperatures. In the transition regime the application of moderate magnetic field also induces a downward shift of the spectral weight.
