Abstract

In a recent issue of Molecular Cell, Kurat et al. (2009) find that when quiescent yeast re-enter the cell cycle, the cell-cycle cyclin-dependent kinase phosphorylates and activates the lipase Tgl4, liquidating fat and providing fatty acids for cell-cycle entry.
