Abstract

This paper presents the characteristics of the Thyristor Controlled Series Compensation by Adjustable Coupling , deduces the adjustable reactance formula considering leakage reactance, and presents a fast and effective power regulation algorithm with offline regulation according to the characteristics of the step regulation of reactance by adjustable coupling. In transient stability control process, this paper introduces additional variable δω and variable gain approach to increase the damp of the system remarkably. With dynamic simulation test system as the background, and according to the new reactance formula, a 21-step Thyristor Controlled Reactance by Adjustable Coupling device is designed. Besides, power regulation and transient stability control with practically adjustable reactance are simulated according to the above approach. The result shows that this device has better regulation performance.
