Abstract
Surgical management of acetabular fractures mandates a precise fracture pattern analysis and selection of an appropriate approach. The ilioinguinal approach allows access to the internal aspect of the innominate bone from the symphysis pubis to the anterior sacroiliac joint. Familiarity with surgical anatomy, exposure intervals, and access limitations are prerequisites when using this approach. Recent advances in reduction and fixation methods using specialized instrumentation are described.
